I have it on good authority that supper this week will be a choice of either chicken & mushroom pie or curry, if that's not a good excuse for mid week racing I don't know what is.
Just thought of another excuse, the beer's good!

Wednesday Evening [Bob]

Bob replied:

Hi Frank. Don't tell the whole world or everyone will want to come. Putting it on the Grafham website, too, would be a good idea.

Wednesday Evening Racing at Queen Mary [George Stephen]

Post by Archive »

George Stephen replied:

We are much more interested in our sailing than what is on the menu - we can take it for granted there will be a wider choice of meals available than Grafham offers. And very probably the sailing is much better as a result....

SO if you're looking for somewhere to sail on Wednesday evenings, better come to Queen Mary.

Are but what about the entertainment [Bob]

Bob replied:

Ah but I bet you don't have the entertainment we have at Grafham. With Frank chairman of the entertainments committee we are bound to be kept amused. What's more he spreads his talent so widely that it rubs off on others!!

Sprint 15 entertainment [Andrew Hannah]

Post by Archive »

Andrew Hannah replied:

Will Frank be bringing a sample of his entertainment to Marconi this weekend? Not just his his trick of sailing upside-down, but his clubhouse antics as well!

Earlier this week, I purchased a tent from Argos especially for this year's TTs. When I got it home, I read the instructions on how to pitch it. Apparantly it takes three sober people. Not only would it be an entertainment to see, but how am I to find three sober Sprint 15 sailors?

Andrew.

3 Sober Sprint 15 Sailors [Bob]

Bob replied:

Hi Andrew, I recommend putting your tent up before 6pm if you want sober help. After that - no chance.
See you at Marconi

Entertainment at Queen Mary [George]

Post by Archive »

George replied:

Entertainment at Queen Mary is provided by the dinghy fleet - the International Moth sailors (both foiled and foil-less) used to be very amusing, but they seem to have improved if last Wednesday is anything to go by.

Queen Mary's cat sailors are far too good to provide amusement for those whose thinking doesn't even reach 2 short planks. But as there has to be the occasional exception to prove the rule, it has been known for cat sailors to get stuck against a dredger - but only in a bit of a gale....
