Sailing Fitness

Post by gericatrix »

I've just checked out the images alongside the Y&Y report of last Saturday's meet at Draycote Water. I think Charles Watson's performance was outstanding, and looking at the picture of him beating to windward in a hooley I can see why.

He did say that he doesn't go to the gym. What hope is there for lesser mortals I wonder? Nice one Charles.

I just like the big stuff, what can I say?

I suppose the kids help to keep me fit & used to getting up at ungodly hours, so no missed-lie-in-blues for me!

Got to say it's ince to be a relative young one, when in other sports I'd be a vet. by now!

I myself find the diet of strong stout and meat pies to be most helpful in strong winds!!

Frank said "I myself find the diet of strong stout and meat pies to be most helpful in strong winds!!" Not to mention apple pie & custard.
Well Frank was putting the diet to the test again in the wind today and was seen to be going upwind very well when putting all this weight to work. :P

Lunch

Yes, the pasty, beans & chips helped to keep things sunny side up especially during the 7+ gusts, in which I noticed several salad munchers swimming!! :
