New Photo Archive

Post by Martin Searle »

Folks,

I've put up a new photo system which allows Bob to upload pictures to the site without any action by me! :D Its a trial run since I need to know if the server can handle it when put under more than one or two users load.

It's pretty nifty in the way it can dynamically re-size pictures and also give you statistics on the most popular pictures viewed and downloaded.

Unlike the chat system you don't need a login for its normal use. So you won't need a login. I don't want to enable comments though (a legal minefield or what!).

Anyway give it a try, click Photos in the main site. Virtually all the pictures are NEW!

Thanks

new photo system

|May I just record how good I think the new website and the chat pages and the photo gallery are looking. Full marks in my book to Martin and all concerned - great job!!
On the latter item, I was amazed at how many pics there are of me and perhaps just a tad disappointed that in all of them my boat doesn't seem to be quite the right way up. I do, however, trust that they will keep the viewers amused. You are more than welcome to have a laugh at my expense!!

Thanks George.

You can blame Bob for the extensive coverage of that particular event.

The most intriguing photo I think is of George Carter going down the mine in the General section, question is did he recover since the photo name would suggest he did but it looks pretty near terminal to me.

The cartoon Bob uploaded featuring Gordon is a bit of a laugh.

That's the trouble with you George, when we think you are down the pan, you pop back up.
Great job on the new website Martin, only needs more pictures of me and less of Bob and it will be perfect.

Well Whadda Ya know  . The other year I did pretty much the same thing and it popped back up too only the water pouring off the leeward hull washed me off the back and the boat went for a sail on its own!

Hi Erling - what we want is more pictures of Frank capsized. I'm working on it. Tomorrow could see him entertaining us again.

Every time I look at the Sprint website, there is something new.

I recall there were plenty of other Instow pictures from 2006 which could entertain us. Also, Gurnard have some pics that were taken on a windy day. These are fun as well.

I keep on dreaming I'll be able to sail like these boys one day!

Hi Martin the web site is looking good, if you want any pictures, there plenty on Shanklin's web site, just help your self, or email me and I will send them.
There is even one of Ervin trying to get back to his normal weight
