Seasalter TT

Post by Steve Willis »

Greetings to all,

Now Bob Carter is thankfully on the e-waves again he has clarified some points for me with regard to the TT events. In light of this I have had to make one small change to the NOR that was posted last week and have asked Martin Searle to replace it with the revised one. The only change is with regard to having one discard if only three races are sailed - I had not allowed for that - Sorry!

We look forward to seeing the fleet at Seasalter for the event.

Due to our short water time (3-4hours per tide) first race start on the Saturday is at 11:45. Consequently anyone who wants to arrive on the Friday or even bring their boat earlier in the week will be welcome. Anyone going to Marconi the previous weekend who wants to leave their boat at Seasalter, or at our house about 5 miles from the club, would also be welcome to do so.

Just let me or Joan know (e-mail ssc@ehvpa.com or phone me on the number in the NOR) about 48 hours ahead and we can arrange to meet you at the club.

We may actually be going free-sailing from 11:00 until 13:00 on the Friday just for a jaunt (wind and weather permitting that allows us time to sail to the Shipwrights Arms in Faversham Creek for a jar!). So those without the need to work that day...........

Our boat field is just across the road from the club and the ramp over the sea wall to the beach and those camping or with caravans can stay in the field - with door code access to the club facilities. All sailing for the event will be within sight of the clubroom and balcony so family and friends will not be left with nothing to see.

There will be no club sailing on either day so the 15s have the water!

We hope you can make it.

Best wishes

The NOR on the site has been updated with the new version.

See you there on Saturday morning, I'll probably trundle down around 9.30'ish but I'm sure there'll be other people about earlier than that.

Fingers crossed we'll match Thorpe Bay. The thumbscrews have been out at the club :D so hopefully we'll have at least 9 or more of our boats out. Kevin has been mentioning it to everyone on his travels.

PS I have updated the position of the club on the map, now google have high detail satellite images of our area, so its accurate to the millimeter now.

I'd be thrilled if Seasalter matches or exceeds the Thorpe Bay entry count. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend owing to a bloomin' wedding! Nevertheless, at least two will be going.

The next challenge will be whether Thorpe Bay can match the number of Seasalter boats going to the nationals in Saundersfoot. I bet a pint with Steve Willis TBYC will have more!

Currently 3 SSC boats are going although Chris may toddle along. My attendance is dependant on how i find the SSC TT but hopefully i will be in Wales this August, thanks mainly to Mr Kevin and his double boat type trailer.
Back to the homeland for Martin, methinks too. Pity my family is from North Wales.
Bet a pint i am the oldest 15 at the nats though.

comming to Seasalters

Post by Steven Tunnacliffe »

Hi All

I have been planning to come along to the Seasalters TT for some time, and after a telephone conversation with Kevin Dutch last night and beging the loan of a trailer for the weekend I cant wait to sail on the sea again (dont get much open water around Halifax) unless you count the newly formed lake district formally known as "Sheffield".

So should be setting of around 3-6pm friday so should arrive around 8-11pm if traffic is kind.

See you all there
Steve

Friday Night

Post by Steve Willis »

Great news Steve.

I will make sure those at the Friday night social know you are coming.

If the front door is locked on its code then go up the sea wall bank and onto the balcony and knock on the balcony door if it is locked.

If it looks like you will be held up give me a call during the evening - number on the NOR.

Regards

Steve

Weather on Saturday & Sunday

Post by Martin Searle »

Folks,

Looking at the BBC's 5 day forecast its looking like a nice weekend with some nice breeze.

Although currently the BBC's forecasts are doing an impersonation of a slippery eel

I've seen Thundery with no breeze, Sun\Cloudy with a little breeze and now Sunny with 17mph of breeze all for Saturday in the last few days.

Steve,

I think they try and close at 11pm but our Licence allows serving drinks until 23:30.
