The ratchet is in the block itself, so if you replace your old blocks you will replace the ratchet.
The cam cleat will remain the same, on the pivoting, triangular plate.
Hope this answers the question.

Hi Charles, What I am thinking of doing is replacing my old Blocks with the New Mainsheet blocks part No 02104 windsport, keeping the old Mainsheet cam cleat which has a block and ratchet.
Regards
Chris
The ratchet is in the main bottom block not the two you are thinking of replacing. There should be no problem attaching the new bottom pulley block to the existing bottom ratchet pulley.
Note some previous messages re rope size in the new blocks.
The top block has a hole into which you fix an open end of the mainsheet by opening up the block and then doing up the block screws. This relies on the 'teeth' inside the hole to secure the rope end.
In addition to using a rope of sufficient diameter and /or whipping it to make sure it is bigh enough we were told for our Dart 18 is to put a knot in the rope just after it comes out of the end fixing. In that way if it does pull out of the block then the knot will stop it at the next pulley and prevent the sheet all pulling out of the blocks.
The knot needs to be close up to the top pulley block or you will not be able to sheet in nearly block to block.
