Looking for that little extra bit from your sailing?
Want to compare how your boat is rigged against others?
New to the Sprint 15 and want some expert advice face to face.
Come to the Training Weekend at Seasalter - 5 miles from the eastern end of the M2 motorway.
2007 Sprint 15 TT champion Kevin Dutch and Steve Willis will be leading the training together with a number of the more experienced SSC helms.
The Saturday will comprise boat inspection and comparison, a number of short (single lap ) races to sort out starting strategy and a shore based sailing tactics game for all.
On Saturday evening, following a meal, there will be a 'Salsa Evening' -an opportunity for sailors and partners to join the SSC social crowd. Our own local Solo sailor Mike Lennon, a local Salsa instructor, will be leading the dancing for those interested.
Otherwise the club bar and terrace will be open for those who want to chill out and watch the sunset with a glass of the amber nectar.
Sunday will cover capsize / righting training, more short races to advance the strategy game and then general and one to one discussion as required to go through any questions that arise.
All subject to weather of course.
For any less confident sailors we will arrange for pairing up with experienced helms if required.
The Club field is available for those wishing to camp (with overnight use of the club toilets, showers etc.) and families are welcome. With the club house overlooking the beach 10 metres away and the sailing area non-sailors will be able to enjoy the facilities and see everything that is going on or just enjoy the beach.
10:00 start (preferably with boats rigged) on Saturday and Sunday.
Finish by 17:00 Sunday.
Training Weekend £15
Salsa Evening £3.50
Breakfast (Saturday, Sunday), Evening Meal (Saturday) and light refreshments during the day available at galley prices
By all means arrive Friday evening if you wish, the Club bar will be open for our normal Friday relaxation and games in the club room.
It would help if you could let me know if you think you will be attending (no commitment) - e-mail to SSC at ehvpa.com (I don't like to use the 'at' symbol in open forum but you should know where to put it - too much spam e-mail otherwise).
Hoping to see you there.
Good Sailing
Steve Willis
