Great just when I am trying to get the 9 camera multiplexer sorted out for the club CCTV you add cameras on the patrol boats !

Now that would be a whole new diemsnion to webcams on site - watch the sailing as it happens from afloat

Hi martin this is martin from gurnard. What camera do you use? Ihave some footage from my friends Go pro hero camera, its the size of pack of 10 fags and can be worn like a watch and takes nearly 2 hours of video. When uploaded straight to computer the quality is very good but some of this was lost when i edited a few bit and lost further when i uploaded it to a video sharing site.Idont know if thats normal or not.I should be able to borrow it and take it out on the dart in some silly winds and capture some wipeouts.

Hi,

I have an Oregon Scientific 2000 camera, which records directly too an SD card so it doesn't need a seperate recorder. Was pretty cheap at about a 100 quid. Its supposed to be waterproof to a few metres so it should be ok.

It captures about 1hr of video in AVI format onto the 2gb card I have in it. What I find that when preparing stuff for the web I have to sacrifice quality for less file size otherwise it would take too long to download thus the couple of videos I have on the site are about 10mb in size after being converted from the edited AVI (saved at the best compromise of file size\quality) to an FLV format. I use a free convertor on a website I found. FLV allows the flash video player I use to play the video. Each conversion is bound to lessen quality it is the nature of things. But they are good enough for my purpose.

Its still a lot of space for 2 or 3 minutes of video though.

Yep I also plan to take it out in the windier stuff when I'm happy with security of mounting points etc. But its something for after the nationals although it may well make an appearance there.
