Battens

Post by Steve Lyndon »

I recently bought my first Sprint 15 (1561) and brought it here to Spain about 60ks South of Barcelona (car topped 1800ks). I know some of you don't like the idea of boats leaving the UK, but the Sprint is the only boat that is light, strong and manageable. I knew that one of the battens was broken at the luff end, but I thought a quick e-mail to Cat Parts would solve the problem. No deal; too long and delicate. The laser centre also has them, but I have to go through my local dealer; six weeks and I'm still waiting. Fiberfoam of Austria can send some, they come highly recommended, but are not legal. Any suggestions?

battens to spain

Post by Brian Phipps »

Hi Steve,
Talking battens from Windport's Catparts. We are very happyb to send battens anywhere, they come in a tube to keep them safe, the tricky bit is they are 2.00m long and that is over size for all the normal carriers. They can still be sent but the cost is likely to be between £60 and £80 for a shipment whether you have 1 batten or 20!
The cheapest way is we ship to a UK address of which that person is coming out to see you by plane. That way it goes as std luggage.
Hope that helps
Cheers
