Gelcoat matching for minor repairs

Post by RobBowen »

Hi all. So it seems that my 15 isn't white!

Has anyone got any tips for matching the "off white" gelcoat colour please? Also any hints for blending in the non slip surface on the deck would be great as well!

Pardon this blatant name-dropping, but if you call Steve Sawford and tell him your boat's original sail number, he'll be happy to sell you a pre-coloured perfect match. I've had several batches from him and my repairs are honestly invisible. :D

Rob, the edge of a file makes as good a non-slip effect as is reasonably possible on patches, I'll show you how at Pwllheli.

Hi Rob, the three main gelcoat hull colours are avaliable on the Windsport Catparts website www.catparts.windsport.co.uk, White, Dawn Gray, Velor Gray.
Nothing can allow for hull fade but but if you clean the area back well you can normally blend the fade in.
A full range of class legal and quality controled replacement parts are listed on the Windsport Catparts website.
