Draycote Water TT Saturday 7th Jan.

Post by pmslater »

Yes I know we've still got Christmas and New Year to look forward to but don't forget the Draycote Winter TT is just over two weeks away.

First Race at 11:00 am.
The DX start will be 5 minutes after the Sprint 15 start.
Two races back to back.
Signing on from 9:30 am
Briefing at 10:15 am

Entry fee £13.00
Don't forget that boats have to be hosed down on arrival because of killer shrimp so allow extra time for this.

After the outstanding hospitality shown by Stewartby and Carsington we are making more effort with the food this year so bacon butties can be purchased before the race and meals can be ordered at the signing on for after the race. Most importantly the bar will also be open!

The water level is low but there is still plenty of room for sailing so the more visitors the better!

We look forward to seeing you all and particularly people from Carsington who can look forward to being thrashed as usual (probably)

Cheers!

Thanks for the reminder Pete.

I am planning to attend and just as I've popped my Carsington cherry, I shall pop my Draycote cherry too..

See you all there.

Cheers.

Pete,

You said we have to hose down boats on arrival.

I've looked at the Draycote WSC website which says "An area to the east of the club house will be marked out and a hose pipe will be provided." The useful map in the "Visitor's Information" page doesn't show it.

Is this area clearly signed up so that visitors can find their way there easily?

George,
As per last year there will be someone near to the gate who will direct you to the hosing down area.
Someone will 'deshrimp' your boat there.
Look forward to seeing you.

Windguru is looking a bit tasty for Saturday. Can you put a couple of logs on the fire to warm our cockles, Pete?

Hi Pete,

The boats packed and I'll be driving up on Friday evening. Will the club be open to drop off the boat?
Good news on the weather front and just as well. I'll need something to push all that xmas pud round the lake.

See you all then.

Gary,
The gates for the site are on a timer and are controlled by Severn Trent.
They open at 7:30 am and close at 5:00 pm.
So long as you enter before 5:00 pm exit is still possible after 5:00 pm as there is a detector on the sailing club side of the gate.
Cheers
Pete.

Thanks to all at Draycote for a great event. I particularly appreciated being able to order a meal at registration and know it would still be available after I'd packed away - lifesaver.
