Stewartby Sprint 15 Winter TT - 3rd November

Post by KarlPountney »

Hello all. It's that time of year again where I yet again cut 'n' paste the announcement I posted last year into a fresh one so I can announce that the first of the Winter TT Series events is taking place in a couple of weeks at Stewartby.

The format is as before. Two races, first race at 11.15 am. Briefing at 10.30 on the clubhouse patio. Open to all formats. RYA PY number will be used.

The club will be open from 08.30 so plenty of time to set up (put your boat together!), chow-down on bacon butties and sup a few mugs of tea.

The entry fee is the same at £15 and everyone goes away with a crate of beer*. A bacon butty and a cup of tea is included as well. Please ask the Galley about "Love in a Bun" but do expect to pay a little more (for the additional sausage and egg).

A typical hot meal, which is not included in the entry fee, drink and pud comes in at around £6 - £7. With luck, we'll be able to post the Galley menu before the weekend itself.

Like last year we intend running both races back-to-back rather than either side of lunch. It works well and was popular amongst visitors and members alike.

We've yet more home boats than last year and we want to see as many of you as possible. Andy B posted a separate comment on the forum about arrangements to drop boats off on the way home from Grafham and encourage you to take it up. It's free.

We had a whopping turn-out last year which will be hard to beat, so we'll look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

If you have any questions please contact myself, Mark Norman, Andy Bunyan or Jon Finch and you can do this simply by emailing sprint15@swsc.org.uk.

Thanks Karl.

I'll be putting my 15 on the trailer again and plan to make the winter series. Here's hoping for lots of wind to at least give Stuart something to think about if nothing else!!

See you all @ Stewartby.

Just picked my boat up from Carsington,
Weather forcast looks quite promising...
Looking forward to doing my first 'away' Sprint15 meeting.

Last time I sailed at Stewartby was about 30 years ago!

Sorry, but I will have to tender my apologies for not being able to attend what is always a great event.
I hope the wind gods are kind to you and you have a good day.
May I make my usual request of some good pics. to go with the event report. The pics. of the summer event were brilliant - many thanks.
Cheers & beers

With your recent form Neil I'm sure we'll all be bumped up the order as a result.

There was beer left. Where the hell were you?

No, seriously. A great turn-out again and I'd like to thank all those who have travelled a good distance to join us today.

If you're interested, we've put the results up on our site. Please go to: http://www.swsc.org.uk/sail/results/201 ... winter.htm

The race report is in-hand and will be available shortly with pictures taken by members of the club.

See you next year. K.
