Trying to resolve my early entry posted April which seems to have gone astray.
Excellent turnout from the host club. Will there be any 15's left in their boat park?

We're pleased to know Kevin Dutch is coming. We'll order a few extra barrels.

Will Mark Aldridge be entering? It could be a quiet championship without him.

And David Ball? In recent years, he has raced in our winter programme. He's like a local except he's usually quicker.

Well done Seasalter for the excellent turnout, so far eclipsing Shanklin and mighty Grafham.

Don't forget, it is worth entering even if you can't do all the races, eg on the Monday.

We're still twisting a few arms at Thorpe Bay.

Yes, camping is available on the greensward. As before, there is no charge.

74 entries now with Andymac and Kevin making 76 and hopefully enough other late entries to take us over the 80. Can we make it a record? TBYC are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone next weekend.

It is well worth repeating the advice on the Events page about ignoring your Sat Navs. Enter Southend on the A127 and, after you have entered the 40mph limit, ignore all signs and just go straight on at each and every roundabout and lights until you reach the sea (approx 5 miles). Turn left and TBYC is 500yds along the seafront. (If you look at the map at the top of the Events page, this route takes you down Royal Artillery Way and is much easier and faster than the Sat Nav route through Southend.)

Andymac asked if there would be any Sprints left in our boat park. About 10 at present, but Steve Healy and Paul Morgan are working hard on them!

Bring your swimming gear - the sea is lovely and warm at Thorpe Bay!

Brian isn't listed yet though. He hinted earlier in the thread that he could do some of the races 2 up with Holly Farthing.

Anyway, it is a good turnout and a week to go with potentially plenty of last minute entries.

So I mentioned we had the Balcony renewed especially for the Nationals, well this meant our Webcam wasn't working for a while and you was missing a good view of the racing area. Well it is now.

The view looked great today but I get the feeling this weekend it maybe dull and wet.

Never seen so much activity in the ssc boat field as today except when the TT is on. Boat alignment table now worn out, gel coat repairs drying and conbars and rudders sorted on 10 boats. Double stacked trailers ready and it looks like we will be fielding 10 at Thorpe Bay. Club fleet now 30 with another new addition this week.

Joan and I hope to get down on one day next weekend to watch and support.

Anyone planning on arriving by water from Seasalter?

If you want to sail across from Seasalters then let me know and I (or somebody else) will be around to meet you. We will get you a trolley to bring you up until yours arrives. If you take a phone and you feel you have a problem, we can come and get you in one of our safety boats if that is a concern, as long as we have the tide.

in 2012 for the Nationals Daren Fitchew, Theresa Ryall and Gary Sverdloff all sailed the many miles up the coast from Thorpe Bay to Brightlingsea. A successful and interesting trip across the east coast sands.
