Despite the horrendous forecast 6 travellers and 8 home boats turned up at Draycote this morning but one look at the wind and the waves meant that no one was in a rush to get their boats rigged.
After much chat and tea drinking the decision was made to postpone the racing untill 12:00.
The wind was blowing a steady 30 knots with gusts even stronger.
12:00 duly arrived and five intrepid fifteeeners (including Derek James and arch rival Jan Elfring) decided that the wind had dropped sufficiently for them to go racing but by the time the boats were ready to launch a squall blew through and even these five decided it was just too windy and so the racing was cancelled.
Anyway it was nice to catch up with people and admire Pauls new boat.
Many thanks to all those who travelled a long way to nearly take part and lets hope we have better luck next year!
Cheers
Pete.
