Marconi TT 2015

Post by WaveyDavey »

A little under 3 weeks until the next TT at Marconi, on 26th and 27th September.

Notice of race and additional information about the weekend can be found on this site (linked from the home page) and also from Marconi SC web site (http://www.marconi-sc.org.uk/)

Plan is for 3 races on Saturday, with race 4 being a longer distance race on Sunday. Due to other up-river events the course for Sunday may not be the usual figure-of-eight around Osea and Northey Islands, but we're still aiming to make it something a little different and interesting.

Free camping is available at the club on Saturday night (no need to book). The galley will be serving food across both days and the bar will be open Saturday evening.

Due to local authority regulations, camping is not permitted at the club on other nights, but you can pitch 10 minutes drive away for a reasonable fee at the Star Pub in Steeple village.

Hi Gordon. It'll be great to see you.

Jen, Kevin, Pete and I were really sorry to miss the Nationals this year (it clashed with our club Cadet Week in which we are all involved) so are looking forward to catching up with folks this weekend.

Forecast looks pretty good, with F2,3,4 across the 2 days.

Dear all

Enjoy and sorry I cannot make this one. Please remember to upload results and happenings after Day One and Day Two so those of us not there can feel part of it.

Can't find any scores. I would think Erling is winning.

Paul tells me has won all the races today and so has won the event already. Have advised him to go out on the lash.

Quite agree. The thought of Paul off the leash in Marconi is a little scary. Especially as he has already admitted to "going for a waz" in campsites at night!!

Thanks to everyone at Marconi for another excellent weekend's sailing.

Especially enjoyed the long distance race on Sunday up the estuary to sail around the Radio Caroline boat. Great.

Marconi seemed a good event, sorry I missed it. Sailing around Radio Caroline has to have been good fun ( for those of a certain age).
I do now realise that my previous post re Paul was not about Paul C (as I for some strange reason assumed) but about Paul G. Apologies to both for that and well done Paul G for another win.
