Marconi Traveller - 23 and 24 April 2016 - Registration

Post by Jenny Ball »

Hi everyone

Marconi SC in Essex is first up for the 2016 Summer Series on 23 and 24 April.
NOR is on the website. Briefing will be 11am on Saturday with first race no earlier than 12. The long distance race round Osea and Northey Islands will make a welcome return (subject to weather) - but will be Saturday afternoon due to the tides.
Free onsite camping available on Saturday night - galley service all weekend including dinner/bar on Saturday night.

We would be grateful if you could pre-register your intention to take part via the link below. We can then pre-print the entry forms to speed up the reception process. (Payment will not be taken until the day in case your plans change either way!).

Any questions or help required - let me know!

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend. However I hope to see good report, good photos including ones showing loads of Sprint flags up.

Any rumours that I am not attending to give Liam a chance are completely unfounded.

We are looking forward to hosting the TT at Marconi next weekend!

If you need to drop your boat off in Friday evening, please get in touch so I can be there to let you in.
Otherwise, the site will be open from Saturday morning.

Thank you to everyone who has pre-registered. If you think you are coming along - we would appreciate if you could pre-register via the link above.

Any questions, let me know!

The whole event ran like a well oiled machine including getting a report onto Yachts and Yachting. Well done Jenny, and everybody else that made it happen.

I think we need to get one of these fitted to Paul's boat before the next event: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sea-Anchor-Dr ... Sw~otWg7Zk

Just like to add my own thanks at an open meeting brilliantly organised and to all the members of Marconi who helped land the visitors boats by wading chest high in freezing water, this prevented a bonazar for boat repairers! Who would have thought there could such large waves that far up an estury

Many thanks Keith (1840)

Glad to hear people had a good time, despite the chilly conditions! We always enjoy hosting the Sprint 15s.

And Liam - that sea anchor is nowhere near big enough, we need one of those big metal ones instead.....

So Howard took a swim - I bet it was cold
(He got off light in the report so I just thought I would restore the balance)

I also see that Kevin did not risk it in his new boat.................

Next time maybe?

Yes Bob, it was. I was - of course - just playing to the gallery.
