Nick Dewhirst won the first event of the Winter Series at Stewartby with a 1st & 2nd from Paul Smith. There were 12 travellers and 4 locals making a good attendance for a day with a wet and windy forecast. It was windy and wild with many incidents to increase the excitement so watch out for the full write up soon.
Next event is Beaver on 9th December.
I read this with mounting terror . They must be loony to leave the house in this weather , or get out of bed , let alone sail in it . What happens if you fall in ? where do you keep the cigar ?what happens if you miss East enders ?
I would like to suggest a Wimp Series , to be sailed in F3/4 max, in hot or hottish weather , it must be about right , subject to a vote ,in the afternoon, after a decent lunch. All entrants obviously must know race rules backwards esp the one about the port er or isit the other one. Any one who dares win buys the drinks . Stewartby big winders are allowed , but if they win , buy the drinks and are automatically disqualified .
