Kevin, Here it is again:
The thin foam camping bed rolls (like a foam mat to lie on) are ideal. You can buy them in bright colours at about ?4 each from Milletts. In fact the can of Evostick to stick them on is more expensive.
I've refurbished 2 of my past boat trolleys and they have held up very well.
