A BIG THANK YOU to all at NDYC for hosting this excellent event which, in true Instow style, was most memorable and great fun especially when the wind came up and the sun came out.
Monday's race was one to savour as we thrashed around nearly every corner of the estuary for close on two hours - brilliant.
Some personal thank you's from me-
-to all the offers of assistance and help when I became the victim of what I am now endearingly calling "the Instow Kiss" . If you've heard of the "Glasgow Kiss", you'll get the idea. It's basically about broken noses or, in this case, bows!
I had so many offers of spare boats, spare hulls from so many including the sailor who metaphorically speaking was instigator of the initial embrace - no names, no pack drill! Thanks to Steve Sawford/Paul Grattage for organising the boat and to the boys from the tropics (Erling and Stuart) who helped me put it all together so I missed not one race. The special camaraderie that defines our Class was in abundance - great stuff indeed.
Many congratulations to Kevin who now holds both Nationals titles in the same season - well sailed that man against some stiff competition at the head of the fleet.

We are using all of the RYA\ISAF rules in the rule book except for those modified by the Sailing Instructions, usually the penalty is reduced to 360 and the scoring system is adjusted plus local adjustments at the hosting club. So yes the answer is we are already.

Well done indeed to Kevin for doing the double and Steve/Charles for the other podium spots.

Well done to Paul for taking it on the chin and I really do know what it's like to hole a boat in a Nationals!!

Thanks to Charles for the cycling idea as it certainly sorted out the afternoon entertainment.

I found the sailing very challenging without a strong wind to combat the tide and I apologise to all those who I may have impeded as I managed to capsize on the finish line (apart from Ed as he just laughed as he went past!!) on the last race. I'd had a lousy race and just wanted it over, so took the opportunity to break the line early without really considering the consequences - there's a burgee down in the sand if anyone wants to go and get it.

I hope Erling does not dismiss Instow for 2013 on the assumption that they would have us again and a consensus of sorts is held.

Lastly a big well done to all those that turned up, sailed their boats and enjoy the great atmosphere only Instow and NDYC (and their members) can offer..

Another thing to say about Instow is how refreshing it is to see different winners, I think we had 5 without looking at the results. Keeps us all on our toes and potentially in with a chance.

I second everyone's thanks to NDYC for the great sailing. There were challenging courses, with testing & sneaky tides plus winds from testingly flukie to beautiful flat out on the wire.

Race five was the most enjoyable & technically challenging race I've ever sailed, with 5 of us changing places in the last two laps & going over the line within about 20 seconds of oneanother, it just doesn't get better than that, whoever wins.

Thanks to everyone for great racing. Thanks to Mark for turning the cycling into afternoon socialising (aka drinking) sessions !

Looking forward to the next time already.
