Well there was lot's of wind today at Grafham, but no Frank Sandells. It made it quite peacefull really but we were worried that Frank might have gone to dancing lessons so that he could join Erling's team. With no Frank we had to look elsewhere for amusement. Happily Frank's old sparing partner (Bob Rowntree) was there to oblige. Bob had a few close calls in the first part of the morning race and then on the 3rd lap his "piece de resistance" was an almighty pitch pole on a fast reach. Our reporter (Tom Sandal) said that he has never seen anybody catapulted so far off their boat as Bob was today. Happily Bob recovered to finish the race.
In the second race Bob was clearing getting to grips with the boat again and he came in proudly exclaiming " There - see, I did not capsize that time!".
I reckon Frank better watch out when he returns from his dancing lessons.
