Cleaning Graffiti [rick]

Just been down to the freshly polished boat to discover some local lad down on his luck etc.etc has decided to use it to express his artistic talents with black and blue spray paint.
This is on the topsides of the hull and also on both sides over the name.

Can anyone give me any guidance in the best way to clean this without leaving marks on the hull? I guess the name will have to go as any type of cleaner will probably lift this anyway.

This has only happened over the last week so I guess the sooner I tackle it the better but don?t want to rush in and make more mess that there already is.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Oh dear. What a miserable trick. I suggest that you give Steve Sawford a ring & ask his advice. He is too busy to answer E Mails but his phone number is on this web site under suppliers.
Best of Luck.

PS I know where you can get the Blanca stickers if you decide to replace them.

Sorry to hear about this. Does your local council have a Grafitti cleaning unit? I realise they are more used to cleaning stuff off walls, but they may be able to recommend some good & relatively kind products.

Would a power washer or steam cleaner do the job? At least you know water doesn't melt gelcoat!

I can't recommend any chemicals, but judicious use of wet-&-dry and T-cut would work on the topsides, but not on the deck.

Good luck!

Thanks for your comments I have spoken to Steve who has reccomended acetate as the best way to clean the hull.
My local Graffiti removers from the council have also been very helpful and I may fall back on them if the SSM solution does not work.
Thanks again for your comments
