Well Done Marconi

Post by Bob Carter »

I just thought I would say a few words about the Marconi Event. The weather was not completely co-operative (very windy on Saturday and foggy on Sunday morning) but the Marconi Club coped well with the conditions.

The attendance (26) was an equal record with 1997. 11 locals plus 15 travellers was really good for the first event of the Summer series. Admittedly a few got put off by the conditions on Saturday, but it was great to see so many people. Of special mention was the 4 visitors all the way from Halifax - well done guys. Charles Watson was the top placed traveller.

It was great to see the Marconi Fleet thriving with some good sailors. You have never taken the top 3 places before.

Well done to all concerned.

Cheers

I'd like to concur with Bob that it was a great start to the summer season.

Bit of a drive, but worth filling even my big thirsty beast's tank.

I'll definitely be going back, if nothing else to try to make fewer mistakes, get the hang of those tide thingies & split up the Marconi boats!
