Grafham on 18/19 October

Post by Bob Carter »

Just a quick reminder that it is the last event of the Summer TT Series at the Grafham Cat Open on 18 & 19 October. It is also our Inland Championships.

The briefing is at 11am on Saturday and the first race is at 1200. No pre-entry is needed. Just turn up and enter on the day*. We hope to get some wind this year! The Sprint 15s plan to do 3 races on Saturday and 2 races on the Sunday. The other classes are doing 3 races on Sunday so we will get an earlier and quicker prizegiving so the travellers can get away. Let's see how it works out.

On the Saturday evening there will be a meal at 7pm in the upstairs bar after which we will be showing sailing videos on a big screen. :D

See You there

Regards

Bob Carter

* If you plan to camp you do need to book camping spots ahead of time - especially for campervans.

Hi Bob

Can you book a Tent pitch for me or is this not the place to book it, as Ben and I plan to be there asuming you have booked a decent breeze this year, and some fine bright Autumnal skys :)

Speaking of the TT we have never sailed at grafham (due to the howling gail of the winter series last year), so have never actually taken a boat off a trailer.

Where do we go to unload the boats and where is the camping situated :?:
or will this become evident on arival.

Hi Steve
It's good to hear that you and Ben are coming. You need to book the camping spot. You can do this by calling the Grafham office on 01480 810478. The camping area is opposite the Clubhouse by the roundabout.
The first field you come to as you go through the gate is the area designated for visitors to set up their boats.
See you there!

At the risk of straying into the Grubguru's territory, the menu for the upstairs meal on Saturday night at 7pm, is:
Steak pie, chips and veg or Fish, Chips and peas plus puds (various)
and the price is £9
Cheers

Bob

Steve Davison & I are also planning to come down, so not a bad turn out from our little club!

Looks like it will be a best ever result in the summer series too, with 3 of us currently in the running for pots !

The Grafham report is on the Y&Y website and will be on this website anytime.

Sorry that sorting out the results took so long - it was due to an inconsistency in the way some competitors had been entered in the Sailwave programme. Some of the times were not being corrected. As our results were first to be scutinised we found the problem and had to get it resolved. By way of consolation our prize giving still finished an hour earlier than the other classes (despite being a hour or more later than we planned).

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Have you thought about getting your wife to give the rest of your body a thorough check out?
