Still getting to grips with my sprint, and loving every second of it, particularly the windy days
Although I have a host of problems, the one bugging me the most is a dead beam reach in light winds, I just can't seem to get it to go at all, lose loads to any other sprint along those legs. A bit broader and it goes fine, same for tighter.
Any suggestions tips welcome. Would love to attend a teach in somewhere.
I look at every boat that passes me. This isn't difficult because, very quickly, there are more boats in front of me than behind. Having finished 51st in the recent national championships at Pentewan, I have finally realised I am doing something wrong.
But curiously enough, you do learn from others. And regularly racing against them, is the fastest way to learn. You don't need to be part of a big fleet of Sprints, although that undoubtedly helps. The Sprints hold regular open meetings around the country. You would be very welcome if you came along.
