Hi all,
I thought I would make a suggestion as to a use for your old sails should you have a spare.
I sail a Sprint (albeit badly) at Draycote.
As most do, I like going out when there's a blow but some times get overpowered on occasions even with two up and one on the wire.
One of the guys who sails there had an old sail which I have
( With his permission) had cut down to make a 3/4 sail and have attached a piece of rope to the head so it is the same length as a normal sail. This works in the normal manner but allows me to go out in heavy weather under much more control ( well occasionally) therefore I don't miss out because it's gusting 40. I appreciate it is not class legal but it's a shame to miss the fun!
The only thing you need to consider is to cut the sail to the same shape when removing the lower panel.
