About Queen Mary Sailing Club
Queen Mary Sailing Club is situated on one of London's largest resevoirs, (around 700 acres). Sited in the Staines/Sunbury area, it is within easy reach of all the motorway links going into the West of London, and is one of the largest sailing clubs in the London area. For most of its life QMSC was a monohull only club, but about 5/6 years ago the club decided to open it's doors to catamarans, and since then there's been a steady increase in their numbers. The club is in the main professionally run and organises a full range of sailing events and Open races. Club races are held each Sunday, and in the Spring/Summer on Wednesday evenings. Courses are varied and interesting. We have a large clubhouse with bar and restaurant, large changing rooms and showers, we also have a winch if you can't pull your boat out of the water! We want more Dart 15 members. Directions to Queen Mary Sailing Club From all directions, north or south, it's probably easiest to come along the M25. Turn off at junction 13 and head towards Staines and Kingston. After approx 1 mile you come to a large round-a-bout junction with traffic lights. You basically want to go straight across here, but to do this follow the signs to Kingston A308. Do not take the A30 towards London. Carry on down the dual carriage way, and you soon come to another round-a-bout with a large willow tree in the centre, straight across again, and at the next traffic light, turn right. The entrance to Queen Mary is immediately on your right. Drive up the slope to get to the boat park. |
