| Rutland Dart 15 sailors come out mostly on Thursday evenings. They are a select group that Windsport trainer and Dart 15 owner, Tom Rosoman, has groomed on the finer points of sailing making them one of the countries more capable fleets. Local hot shots are Steve Sawford and Dave Stanbridge who has taken over the role of fleet captain after Rob Boswijk has elected to take a back seat.
The reservoir is over 2000 acres and is situated due west of Stamford. The club facilities are excellent: there is a magnificent clubhouse with full time office staff, there are a number of dormitories that can be booked at the club office, and there is a camping field adjacent to the club. The local Dart 15 fleet at the club is both sizable and active and is led by fleet captain, Dave Stanbridge (01572 821226). Directions The clubhouse is at Edith Weston on the South shore of the Lake, which is due west of Stamford. From the A1, take the A606 in the Oakham direction. After 2-3 miles take a left to Edith Weston. When you get to Edith Weston do not go into the village, but go straight on to the T junction (with a sentry tower).
