Re: Dry suit repair

Thanks for the feedback, since posting I’ve found a local company that’ll replace the feet for £30.00. But I’ll give the patch repair a go as the rest of the latex is in good condition. I apply talc to the latex when I store the drysuit and may try stuffing the ‘3d’ feet with some socks to stop crea...

Dry suit repair

Any help or advice welcome regarding my drysuit. I had a look at my drysuit today having not used it for over 12 months. I store it flat with the legs hanging off a shelf and the ‘3D’ latex feet dangling free, not touching anything. There’s a natural crease on the sole of the latex foot but on stora...

Re: Webmaster

I wish I had known you were doing this, could have offered you b+b rather than Llandudno beach. Lovely shots of the Welsh Coast.

Replacing inspection hatch

After leaking for some time I’ve finally got round to replacing the rear hatch mounts on 1615. Carefully removing the mount, and cleaning up the old sealant has revealed a rather damaged set of rivet holes. Is the best thing to fill in and repair the old holes, then start again and drill six new riv...

Steve Sawford contact details

Just tried to call Steve Sawford using the number on the supplier section of this website, but it’s coming back as the wrong number. Does anyone have the correct one and are you happy leaving a reply with it on the forum.

Thanks

Re: The Boat Show

I remember the Earls Court boat show very well. In January, a great way to shake off the new year blues. When we had proper winters it could be a bit of a sod getting there on the train from North Wales, often snowy, trains late or delayed, but they always got there. That was when you could turn up ...

Re: Looking ahead to 40th Anniversary Nationals ....

Hi Jenny Thanks for the early information. I've reserved a room at Portland House, looks like good value and very close to the sailing venue. Mrs P is coming with me this time, we may stay on after the Nationals and explore that part of the South Coast. Will there be any 'fun events' pre or post Nat...

Re: Mast Ball Tolerance

Hi Chris Hull number 1641 would make your Sprint 15 a 'Fashion' model, like mine 1615, with the three coloured blocks on the outer surfaces of the hulls. In your earlier photo they all look the same colour, is that a transfer over the original blocks as I haven't seen anything other than a purple, g...

Re: Wet & Dry Paper

Hi Steve I tidy up the damaged area with 400 grade, clean up with acetone, then repair with gel coat filler. Once set, rub down the excess gel starting with 400, working your way up to 600, 800 and finish with 1000 or 1200 grade paper. Always use a cork sanding block to give an even sanding surface ...

Re: GoPro attachment to Sprint 15

Thanks for the info.
I had the camera at the Thorpe Bay Nationals but decided not to bother with it and concentrate on my sailing. I'm regretting that decision, as some of the footage in the windy conditions would have been good. Plenty of time to practice with it ready for Weymouth 2018.

GoPro attachment to Sprint 15

I'm wanting to use my GoPro camera at the Nationals but need some advice about the best and safest place to attach it to the Cat. I've used it on a Supernova by attaching it via a cycle crossbar mount to the tiller, but not sure this would work on the cat con-bar. Has anyone used a sticky mounting o...

Re: Three weeks until Early Bird Nationals Entries close!

Hi Jenny Thanks for uploading my Thorpe Bay Nationals entry. Your probably very busy as the deadline for the early-bird discount approaches. As many of last years entrants to the Pwllheli Nationals travelled from the South Coast, I thought it right to return the favour and make the trek south. I'm g...
