On a reasonably mild and windy November morning, eleven boats in total, arrived at Stewartby to kick off the 2008 Sprint 15 winter series. Adopting a large square course that utilized the majority of the lake, two races were run, one each side of a short lunch break. The morning race was won by Stuart Snell, with Steve Sawford second and Ed Tuite-Dalton third. The afternoon race was again won by Stuart, with "Tiger Shark Steve" (as opposed to Seasick Steve) again second and Mark Aldridge third. Determination of the overall third place went to Mark ( when looking at the combined times ). With several capsizes and various equipment breakages within the rest of the field, the overall placings of the other sailors was ; 4th Ed Tuite-Dalton, 5th = Chris Black, 6th = Frank Sandells, 7th = Steve Wakelam, 8th = Derek James, Joint 9th = Keith Bartlett and Robin Hall, 11th = Tony Skinner After a good days sailing and just prior to the forecast rain, everyone retired back to the clubhouse for the results and customary crates of beers. Many thanks go to all the participants, organisers, safety crew and galley staff who enabled this event to occur. Results:Full Series Results available here
