188) Committee News: A message from Sissy Dewhirst (Article Published: 12th August 2013 at 09:58 am) Dear Friends Oli, Benny and I want to thank you all for your lovely messages and kind words. So many of you made the journey to Nick's farewell and most of you came such a long way. We were very touched by it and it is great comfort to know that you all wanted to be there say your Good byes. Nick would have loved to know this. Nick loved his Dart 15 'family' and always looked forward to sailing with you all, occasionally beating some of you. But winning was not the most important thing to him - he always wanted to make sure that everybody had a good race and a good time afterwards. Luckily Nick has left a wonderful legacy, bringing catamarans back into the Olympics, but sadly will not see it happen. Nick took great pride in doing what he thought was right and we are all so proud of his remarkable achievements in the sailing world as well as with all his other projects. Thank you all again Sissy, Oli and Benny more.. |
