The Dart 2004 traveller series was concluded at the Grafham event on the weekend of 16/17 October. The series consisted of 8 events around the country which were at Marconi, Swanage, Rutland, Gurnard, Filey, Herne Bay, Carsington and Grafham. The series was won by Bob Carter with two first places and two seconds. Paul Smith was second (1,2,4,3) Gordon Goldstone (2,4,5,7) was third and Philip Howden was fourth. All events were completed and attendances were as follows: Marconi - 19, Swanage - 16, Rutland - 17, Gurnard - 24, Filey - 6 (!!!!), Herne Bay - 12, Carsington - 17, and Grafham - 24.
The National Championships at Whitstable had an entry of 56 and the Sprint National Championships at Instow had an attendance of 43. Thus the class staged the 2 biggest catamaran championships in the UK in 2004.
The fleet now take a short break before starting the winter traveller series of one day races, which begins at Stewartby on 6 November.
